Cobb Board of Education Presents Legislative Priorities for 2012

• To reinstate funding for technical college dual enrollment in order to reduce high school dropout rates and provide a better-prepared work force.
• To maintain employee benefit costs.
• To support fractional penny SPLOST.  If allowed to collect Special Purpose Local Option Sales Taxes at less than 1% of every dollar, local school systems could meet needs for capital improvement with a smaller tax impact on GA residents.
• To determine the local impact costs of unfunded mandates and put in place a process and procedures to protect against them in the future.
