About Us
ABOUT J.J. DANIELL MIDDLE SCHOOL
J.J. Daniell Middle School was opened in 1965, and is named for Judge James Jordan Daniell (1877-1973), a Cobb County Commissioner who taught in a one-room school house before the turn of the 20th century. He was instrumental in bringing development to Cobb County during the post-depression era and for instilling a cohesive sense of community pride. This strong community tradition is still evident today.
Following Judge Daniell’s lead, J.J. Daniell Middle School continues to promote an appreciation for the roots of the hometown life while preparing its students to branch out into the larger world. Many of our parents and teachers attended middle school at J.J. Daniell and have remained in this area to see their children attend the same school.
ABOUT DANIELL PTSA
J.J. Daniell’s PTSA (Parent-Teacher-Student Association) is an integral part of the school’s success, and serves as a forum for parents, teachers, administrators and students to work together and discuss ways to promote quality education, strive to expand the arts, encourage community involvement, and work for a healthy environment and safe neighborhoods.
J.J. Daniell PTSA also provides our student members with the opportunity to make a difference by developing leadership skills, learning about the legislative process, increasing their self-esteem, and contributing to the school. In turn, adult members gain a new perspective for program development, as well as acquire a better understanding of today’s students.
